Sorry everybody!  Its been the absolute most crazy time of this program so far I promise as soon as the Internship is over and pics sorted I will post updates and change my blog up a bit for the next season of life... again sorry.. I love you all and cant wait too see everybody!!

The End Is Near

OK well the end of this internship program is near!  Can hardly believe that its been almost eight months, so crazy how fast time passes!  Well I recently just moved into a new host home, I was at the Millers for about 7 months and will now be at the Woods, for the remainder of the time (about 2 months).  I'm really excited for this summer, alot of big life changes but I feel that the Lord isn't finished with me here on this program, I know that sometimes I wish for this summer to come quick and for this time here to pass but, I know that He is not finished with me here and that every moment is precious and shouldn't be wished to pass!  This has been a life changing experience and just ask for prayer to finish out this program strong. These next couple months will be awesome we have a few trips planned, this month we will be going to St. Louis, and Chicago, in June we are going to Colorado.  Its been hard to blog everything and as frequent as I would like too and apologize, I am going to try to do it once a week from here on out till the program is done.  Thank you all for your amazing support and prayer! means everything!

Next Move

God has revealed so much to me over the past months and am so blessed to have done this program.  The thing I'm dealing with now is where to go?  What to do?  How to do it?  So many questions.  Ive prayed and put allot of thought into the next step of my life, its frightening yet exciting at the same time, just because of the unknown.  I always have faith in him but feel like its easy to have faith and trust Him when things are going well, especially when He is working on my behalf.  On the other hand there is the "unknown" when there are decisions in life that must be made, regardless of the turn out.  How I go about making those decisions with or without God makes all the difference.  In Ecclesiastes 11:4  "if you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done."  Many of you know that Erica and I have been engaged for eight months now and have been unsure about the date of the wedding but last month God was really laying on my heart to pray for our relationship and the wedding, I prayed and prayed and felt led to talk to her about it, so I mentioned to her what God had been putting on my heart and to my surprise He had been putting it on her heart as well.  After praying about it together we both feel like the next step for us is to tie the knot.  we have decided a date and will be sending out "save the dates" soon.  I'm really excited about the next upcoming months and cant wait to see everyone!  The Lord has truly blessed me with a wonderful fiance, family and friends!  If you all could just keep us (Erica and I)   in your prayers for direction and guidance it would be greatly appreciated!

Also I'm almost done paying off this internship I think there is alittle less than 1000!! woo hoo!

ATL Again

OK I'm whooped right now but just a little update...I love you Erica ( ha  ha don't be mad love ;-) just wanted to share a few things before bedtime :-)  we did fine arts festival in Decatur IL and headed right to GA from there we are literally running on 3 hours of sleep but taking lot of pics and having a blast.

Overwhelmed

So I've felt kind of down past couple days and some situations have just been over bering.  So tonight I just opened up the word of God and just started reading and praying.  His presence literally was so overwhelming and powerful I found myself crying and he was just filling me up with a new and refreshed spirit.  I began to worship Him right there, I turned on the revelation song....powerful my goodness.  I found myself thinking of coming to him and seeing his face and just losing my words... His presence is unlike anything this world has to offer!  I know because Ive tasted :-)
Ive never really just fell to my knees and worshiped him right there in the moment, he literally swooped me off my feet.....Nothing can describe what he allowed me to experience tonight!

Repentance

John the Baptist came preaching in the Desert of Judea and said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is near" (Matthew 3:1-2).  John demanded repentance to prepare people to receive Christ.  People are never ready for Jesus until they repent.  Repentance is more than confessing sin or being sorry for it.  A thief may confess to stealing something and be sorry if caught, but neither confession or sorrow proves that the thief has repented.  Repentance is turning from an old direction to face a new one.  I think this is such an awesome concept!  Turning away from whatever sin we may face and instead, doing our very best to live righteously for God!  What is repentance to you?

Beautiful

Today was an awesome and amazing day!  Got to church around 8:20am and didn't leave till 1:00pm it did not feel very long at all.   Ashley and I ran the JV youth today for both services, it went really well.  She talked about identifying ourselves in God...great stuff.  Usually the schedule for youth on Sunday is,  worship, game, message then break out into small groups.  Its pretty awesome!  This upcoming weekend is going to be pretty awesome also, we have big concert coming to the church.  There will be Disciple, Project 86, and Write this down.  Pretty exciting!  check em out on YouTube and if your in the area its only 10 bucks let me know.

Should be able to post my sermon up tomorrow sorry taken so long but its been a very busy week.

These next two months are looking very busy.  We aren't going to have any free time until about the beginning of April, but its all for God and I love it!

Ashes

I'm reminded as I look up into the clear blue or star filled sky, in Sheree amazement at his works.  I look into my past sometimes and wonder, just how can he still love me?  How can he just forget about all of the bad things I've done?  That's why I am so thankful for his love, forgiveness, grace and everything else that he is, because without him we are nothing, we are dead.  His forgiveness is so deep, that sometimes its hard for me to believe.  Ive learned many things since Ive been on this journey and the one thing that I sometimes struggle with is including God in everything in my life.  Not only when the times get hard or bad, but also when things are going good and smooth.  I want God to be not just a part of my life, but I want him to be in my life, where I am in constant communication with him dwelling on him frequently.  Ive also learned that this relationship with God is not just a one sided thing but that I must want it also :-).   When we are on fire for the Lord and everything is great nothing can stop us, but as soon as we let the issues and things of this world get the best of us, that fire begins to fade and get smaller.  After the fire has choked out there are ashes that don't allow the flame to reignite, we become cold.  He removes those ashes and stirs that fire in us, and until we rely on God daily with everything, is when that fire will stay burning hot.

Awesome Snow Storm

We just got through the "storm of the century" I think we ended up with almost 2 feet, add some wind and below zero temps...yuck.  The church and dream center have been shut down for the past two days and will also be closed tomo.  So we have been snowed in and enjoying some relaxed free time, its been good.  I was watching some YouTube videos and stumbled across a great one that I forgot about, it great.  the sleep walking dog

success

Well I preached my first big sermon tonight, I preached about when God becomes real and evident in our lives and when it no longer becomes just a story.  It actually went a lot better than what I thought I was going to do!  God just gave me so much peace and the words to speak, It was incredible.  There were a lot of great responses to the message.  So honored to be able to share the word of God and have an impact on someones life!!  God Is So Amazing. 
Going to be heading back home to Wisconsin for the weekend for my Grandmas memorial....excited to see family!!

Concert

Off to Carlinville IL today for testing in my relationship and ethics class.  Wish me luck!

By the way on Feb. 19 at Riverside Community Church in Peoria IL we are having the rules of engagement tour.  Project 86, Disciple, and Write this Down will be playing its going to be an awesome concert its 12 bucks at the door and 10 bucks in advance, group rates available.  Let me know if you want tickets....

Training Has Begun

Muahha ha So yesterday my host family asked if I wanted to be a part of the local gym, after finding out that it was only going to cost 10 bucks a month and my host family was going to pay I decided I would join.  While signing the papers they said it was actually going to cost nothing for me to join even better ehhh.... so it was the first day at the gym for about 2 hours I hit the tread mil and weights.  I know I'm going to pay for it tomorrow but I need to get into shape a bit before the 5k run in June.

Prayer For Finances to work out properly would be greatly appreciated..
Also prayer for comfort for my family during this time, as we have lost someone very dear to us.

Good Day

It was a good day here back in Peoria IL, rainy but good.  Started off with a little studying of Relationships and Ethics, the test is this weekend! wish me luck.  I also wrote my sermon for Wednesday which got postponed till next Wednesday, its entitled "When God Becomes Real" I'm going to post the video when I get it and everyone can be my critic...;-)  I kept getting reminded today how important it is to focus on our personal walk with him.  Sometimes we choose to do other things other than reading the word or simply spending time with him but, after awhile our prayers and time in the word becomes almost like a chore.  I want to have a burning desire for Jesus always, but I know alot of the time its hard to really focus on the big picture.  So my prayer for both you and me is that we have a stirring in our hearts, to want him and desire him more and more each day.  He is the almighty creator!

Many people have made alot of new year resolutions, but as for me I have only made 1.  I want to press into the Lords presence more than ever this year.  If we aren't pressing in then technically we are growing apart.  I just got done with Christmas break and found that it was easy to take a break from God also, well not so much a "break" from him it was just easier to do my own thing in the business of the holidays.  Here in Peoria we are doing a 5 day fast and prayer, so tonite during prayer I felt God just urging me to press in to him more and to just shake the dust off and move into this new year with boldness.  I know he has huge plans for my life and am so excited for this new year!
